HANDOVER CEREMONY: PROF. MAJALIJA FULLY INSTALLED AS COVAB’S NEW DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

Dr. Jesca Nakavuma officially handed over the Office of Deputy Principal- College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity (CoVAB) to Prof. Samuel Majalija on 21st July, 2017 during a handover ceremony which was officiated by the Principal, Prof. John David Kabasa in the College E-board Room.
During the ceremony, Dr. Nakavuma gave a statement on key issues that she managed to tackle while she served her four-year term as College Deputy Principal. She thanked all staff members for their support and congratulated Prof. Majalija for taking on the role of Deputy Principal.
Prof. Majalija, who was newly appointed for the position by the Makerere University Council also made remarks as he called for support from all staff members for the best of the college.
He affirmed that the biggest output in academics and research is required, which can only be improved through togetherness. He suggested roundtable discussions when he called upon all staff members for ideas for the future of the college. He also affirmed that he looks forward to working with all staff members and accepts the leadership of being Deputy Principal.
Prof. Kabasa commended Dr. Nakavuma for serving with an excellent capacity and also congratulated Prof. Majalija upon achieving a greater role in serving the college.
Both the outgoing and incoming Deputy Principals were later invited by Prof. Kabasa to sign on the statements they presented, after which the Deputy Principal’s file was handed over to Prof. Majalija, followed by joining in for a group photo by all members present for the ceremony.
